We are doing our best to secure Adamawa State – Gov Fintiri

By Taofeek Lawal, Abuja

The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has said his government will not relent in his efforts to secure the people and Nigerians in the state and will also continue to give the necessary support to the security.

The governor revealed this when he paid an official visit to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Muhammad Bello. Fintiri, said his government will continue to rejig the security architecture to safeguard the lives and property of Adamawa people.

Nigeria in recent times has been dogged by security challenges ranging from kidnappings and abductions for ransom and bandits invasion in the northern part of the country leading to the death of many Nigerians. Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna, states in the North West geo-political zone, have witnessed abductions of students in their various schools by bandits with ransom paid by the government.

Fintiri said the government has opened up employment opportunities for youths in the state through entrepreneurial and vocational skills that will keep them engaged positively and stay away from crime.

“We are working round the clock. We are changing from time to time the security architecture of the state. Working and giving support to the security agencies. I think prayers is one of the areas we have embarked on to ensure we have stability, peace and tranquility in Adamawa State. We know the important roles the youths are playing and since our coming on board we have been engaging them,” the governor said.

He added, “The #EndSARS crisis also has further opened our eyes, it has deepened our good relationship with the youths and they have been contributing their part and changing the narratives in the state. Where necessary we are opening up employment opportunities for the youths because that is just the way to go. The lasting solution to all is to ensure that the entrepreneur skills are sharpened and deepened for the future.”
