The Governor of Imo State, Hope Udozima has stated that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) is committed to holding its convention come March 26.
Recall that the party national convention slated for February 26, 2022 had to be postponed to March 26 as the party tried to resolve internal crises.
The change of date, according to the party, was to enable the party to properly organise zonal congresses across the six geo-political zones.
Uzodinma while speaking in an interview on Channels TV program “Politics Today” said the party is committed to the new date.
Speaking on the program, Uzodima maintained that “The leader of our party, President Muhammadu Buhari, is a committed patriot. He is a gentleman and a man of high integrity.
“I can tell you that the convention of March 26 will hold, we are committed to it. We want that convention to come and go so we can do other things.
“All stakeholders and leaders of our great party are committed to having that convention come March 26 and by the grace of God, I am certain that the convention will hold.”
Uzodinma also mentioned that since his administration took over power in Imo state in the past two years, there has been progress in many sectors especially on infrastructure.
He mentioned that there is no government without challenges as the issue of security in the state would continue to be given attention with different security stakeholders and communities been engaged at all times.
He urged party members and opposition parties to avoid conflicts and consider the interest of the people of Imo for meaningful progress to be achieved in the state.
