VFS Global launches State-of-the-Art UK Visa application centres in Nigeria

VFS Global, a leading visa outsourcing and technology service provider, has been awarded a contract to deliver UK visa services in 142 countries, expanding its global reach significantly.

As part of this initiative, VFS Global has unveiled new UK Visa Application Centres (VAC) in Nigeria, with operations commencing on November 19, 2024.

The centres, located in Abuja, Ikeja (Lagos), and Victoria Island (Lagos), aim to provide streamlined and enhanced services for Nigerians applying for UK visas.

Speaking at the launch of the Ikeja centre, Mr. Marc Owen, Director of Visa, Status, and Information Services at UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), described the opening as a major milestone.

“In the year to June 2024, we processed over 225,000 UK visas for Nigerian nationals across all categories. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to accessible and efficient visa services,” he said.

Jonny Baxter, British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, expressed enthusiasm about the development, highlighting the importance of Nigeria as a key UK partner.

“This is the largest visa application centre in Africa, and we are optimistic about VFS Global’s role in enhancing the visa application process for Nigerians,” he stated.

Alok Singhal, VFS Global’s Head for Sub-Saharan Africa, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to providing best-in-class services.

“We’ve partnered with UKVI since 2003, and this expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence,” he remarked.

In addition to traditional visa submission services, the new VACs offer premium options such as document upload assistance, SMS notifications, and courier return of passports.

Customers can also take advantage of the “Keep My Passport While Applying” service and an On Demand Mobile Visa service in Abuja, which allows applicants to complete the process from their preferred location.

The UK remains a top destination for Nigerian travelers, with Nigerians ranking among the top four nationalities for UK visit visas globally.

VFS Global aims to meet growing demand with these enhanced facilities, further solidifying its presence in Africa and beyond.
