Olatunji-Bello stated this at the modular matriculation ceremony of 1,412 students for the 2021 sandwich degree programme, on Friday in Lagos.
Reports state that the vice-chancellor was represented at the occasion by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Adenike Boyo.
“I urge you all to attend lectures regularly and punctually, carry out all your assignments, shun deviant behaviours that can truncate your academic career and avoid indecent dressing.
“The university has zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractices, corruption and hooliganism.
“Your welfare is top on our priority and we will ensure that the academic and learning environment is conducive,” she said.
Olatunji-Bello said that her vision for was to ensure that LASU became the best university in West Africa, adding that she was determined to achieved this.
“I enjoin you to support that vision by striving for academic excellence,” she said.
Speaking earlier, Dean, Faculty of Education, Prof Tunde Owolabi, called on the matriculating students to ensure strict adherence to the code and conduct of the institution.
Owolabi said that students would be exposed to 21st century teaching, which would help to improve their academic performances.
