Vaccine Network pledges commitment to enhance health of children, women in Nigeria

Vaccine Network for Disease Control (VNDC), a non-governmental organisation, has committed to working closely with the Special Adviser to the President on Health, Dr Salma Ibrahim Anas, to ensure the health and well-being of children and women.

CEO, VNDC, Mrs Chika Offor made the commitment in an interview on Monday in Abuja, on the sideline of a dinner in honour of the Special Adviser on Health, Anas, organised by the Southern Borno stakeholders forum.

While congratulating the special adviser, Offor said that VNDC aims to address key health challenges faced by children and women in the country, such as vaccine-preventable diseases and maternal health issues.

She said that the partnership with the special adviser’s office would signify a collaborative effort to prioritise and improve healthcare services for these vulnerable populations.

She said that the commitment would involve initiatives such as increasing access to vaccines, improving immunisation coverage, and strengthening healthcare infrastructure and services.

She said that by focusing on the health of children and women, Vaccine Network and the special adviser’s office would aim to contribute to the overall development and well-being of the Nigerian population.

“The partnership will also involve advocacy and awareness campaigns to promote the importance of vaccinations and maternal health practices,” she said.

She said that the collaboration between Vaccine Network and the special adviser’s office would highlight the commitment towards achieving better health outcomes for children and women in the country.
