Unknown individuals vandalise transmission line in Gwagwalada/ Kukwaba/Apo axis

Yet to be identified persons have vandalised the Gwagwalada-Kukwaba-Apo 132KV Transmission line 1 between Towers 23 and Tower 25.

The vandalisation of the line is suspected to have taken place about  1am on Sunday, December 10th, 2023 according to a statement by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). According to the TCN statement issued by Ndidi Mbah, GM, Public Affairs, “When bulk power supply on the line was cut off, necessitating an early morning investigation by  TCN linesmen.

“Investigations revealed a vandalised  portion on the line route  between Tower 23 and Tower 25. The  vandals had also carted away conductors, causing a power outage at Kukwaba Transmission Substation.

“Presently, TCN has restored bulk power supply to Kukwaba Substation at  07:08 pm as a temporary solution through Apo Substation. Arrangements are, however, ongoing to effect repairs on the affected line,” the statement read.
