Unknown gunmen at the early hours of Monday killed a man at the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State.

The latest gun violence occurred barely five days after three civilians were shot dead at their residence in the same area, and two days after the murder of an Assignment Superintendent of Police (ASP) at an Ikorodu checkpoint.

It was gathered that Monday’s incident occurred around 12:30am.

Aside shooting the victim, his attackers were alleged to have also stabbed him on the neck.

Confirming the incident, police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said investigations had commenced with a view to arresting the culprits.

He said detectives who raced to the scene of incident found the man in a pool of his blood with a knife hanging on his neck.

Hundeyin said an expended ammunition shell and an Automated Machine Teller (ATM) card bearing the name Babatunde Adegoke were recovered from the scene.

He said the deceased was deposited at the mainland morgue for autopsy.
