Unknown gunmen kidnap businesswoman in Eket, Akwa Ibom

About five unknown gunmen, on Friday, abducted one Mrs Uduak Akpan, a business woman, residing in Ata-Idung Afaha Eket in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, told journalists that the incident happened at about 9:00Pm in her husband’s shop, Umaco shopping centre, in James-Town Junction, Ata-Idung Afaha Eket.

He explained that the gunmen numbering about five, invaded the shop, shot into the air sporadically, before whisking the victim away.

The eyewitness told News Men that the husband of the victim, Mr Umana Akpan was watching helplessly while the gunmen zoomed off with his wife to an unknown destination.

He recalled that hoodlums had in early 2022 invaded Mr Akpan’s residence and robbed him of his cash, belongings and bus which were never recovered till date.
