Unknown gunmen attack Rep’s country home in Anambra

Unknown gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday attacked the country home of Rep. Pascal Agbordike, representing Ihiala Federal Constituency of Anambra.

The hoodlums allegedly set the lawmaker’s building ablaze at Ubahi Village in Mbosi, Ihiala Local Government Area.

Confirming the attack to journalists in Awka, he said the bungalow was completely burnt and that nothing was recovered.

He also said that he could not easily link the attack to anybody.

Agbordike called on the Police and other security agencies to carry out thorough investigation into the incident to unravel the identity of those behind the attack.

“As I am talking with you, I am homeless, my building was completely burnt in the village and nothing was rescued.

“I got a call at about 1am this morning that my house was under attack by hoodlums.

“They gained access into the compound and burnt everything down while shooting sporadically.

“I lost everything in that house, including all my documents,” the lawmaker said.

According to him, the building had five bedrooms and four living rooms.

It was gathered that Agbordike was the immediate past Deputy Speaker of Anambra House of Assembly.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga.

Ikenga said that the command had commenced investigation into the attack.
