United Capital Plc. has announced the appointments of Mr Dipo Fatokun and Ms Sutura Aisha Bello as Independent Non-Executive Directors, effective immediately, subject to obtaining requisite regulatory approvals.
This is contained in a notice dated Dec. 31, signed by Mr Leo Okafor, the Company’s Secretary, and posted on the website of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday.
According to the notice, Dipo Fatokun has about 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having worked in different capacities at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
“Prior to his appointment as an Independent Non-Executive Director, he was the Director, Banking Services Department at the CBN.
“He is an alumnus of University of Lagos, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration and University of Ilorin where he obtained a B.Sc. in Accounting.
“He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN),” the notice read in part.
United Capital, in the notice, also described Bello as a seasoned PPP/Project Finance professional with over 30 years’ experience in commercial, financial and project management.
“She has led multiple projects for the World Bank, DFID and OPEC Fund for International Development across a wide range of sectors.
“Sutura is an alumna of the Southern New Hampshire University, USA where she obtained Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems.
She is also an alumna of the University of Maiduguri where she obtained a B.Sc. in Economics,” it said.
