As part of the efforts to encourage teamwork and boost students’ performance, the Osun State University Students’ Union (OSUSU) organised the maiden edition of the Vice-Chancellor Inter-Campus Debate and Quiz competition.
The competition, which commenced last month with an intra-campus debate and quiz competition at the auditorium of each of the six campuses of the University, climaxed yesterday as Ikire Campus won the debate while Osogbo Campus won the quiz competition.
Adesemoye Oluwaseyi from the College of Health Sciences, Osogbo campus was crowned the winner of the quiz competition while Oladejo Oluwatoyin Lateefah from the College of Humanities, Ikire Campus was declared the winner of the debate, which was themed: “The relevance of your field to the sustainable development of the Nation.”
A statement released by the University’s Public Relation Officer, Ademola Adesoji disclosed that “the President of OSUSU, Comrade Muideen Olanrewaju, popularly known as Ajitech and other executives of the Union organised the competition to further unite, promote better performances, boost the students’ talents, skills and inculcate the qualities of sportsmanship spirit, teamwork and cooperation.”
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor applauded the Students’ Union executives for actively engaging the management when airing grievances of students instead of employing unorthodox methods to pass their message across.
