UNILORIN promotes 40 academics to professorial rank

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced the promotion of 40 senior academic staff members to the prestigious rank of professor.

The elevation was approved by the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, and was published in the university’s bulletin on Monday.

The 40 distinguished scholars were recognized for their exceptional performance in teaching, research, and community service, and have been promoted to the highest rank attainable in academia.

The breakdown of the beneficiaries shows that 11 new professors are from the Faculty of Agriculture, while two lecturers from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences were also elevated to the rank of Professor.

Additionally, the Faculty of Communication & Information Sciences produced two new Professors, the Faculty of Law produced one new professor, and the Faculty of Life Sciences produced four new professors, among others.
