UNILORIN, Italian varsity sign MoU on academic ties

The University of Ilorin (Unilorin) and the University of Degli Studi Di Torino (UniTo), Italy, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic cooperation and facilitate student mobility between the two institutions.

According to a memo dated March 31, 2023, the purpose of the agreement is to regulate students’ international mobility for study or research and provide recognition in students’ careers of the didactic activities carried out during the mobility period.

The MoU, which will be valid for each academic year, allows for a maximum exchange of five students from each institution, with a maximum duration of six months. The academic calendar may also be modified by both parties as needed.

As per the agreement, the home institution will be responsible for selecting the students authorised to begin their mobility period at the host institution.

Students in mobility can enrol in any course activated by the Department of Law at UniTo and the Faculty of Law at Unilorin, provided they meet the minimum requirements for access outlined in the didactic regulations of each course.

Upon completion of the study abroad period, the host institution will provide the student with a Transcript of Records certifying the didactic activities carried out abroad.

The home institution will also recognise the studies accomplished abroad as an integral part of students’ careers, except if the student does not achieve the required level set by the host institution.
