UCL: We are Real Madrid – Rudiger takes dig at Chelsea

Real Madrid defender, Antonio Rudiger has taken a sneaky dig at Chelsea ahead of both teams’ UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

Rudiger also expressed optimism that Real Madrid will emerge victorious because his team is Real Madrid, the current Champions League holder.

The Germany international, who was a former Chelsea player, said a lot has changed in the Blues’ current team, who are languishing in 11th place in the Premier League.

He said the current Chelsea team did not resemble the one he played for that won the Champions League two years ago, adding that he does not really know what to expect from Frank Lampard’s side.

“It [The current Chelsea team] has changed a lot and I don’t really know what to expect… It doesn’t look much like the team I played for,” Rudiger told Spanish outlet MARCA.

“I expect quality because they are very good players but I don’t know what else we can find. It won’t be an easy game, but we are Real Madrid.”

He added, “We are in the quarterfinals and anything can happen. The best thing is that being in Madrid, we know how to play this type of game.”
