UCL: Muller makes honest confession after Man City eliminated Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich ace, Thomas Muller, has admitted that his team are not scoring enough goals following their UEFA Champions League exit.

Muller was unable to save Bayern Munich as Man City defeated them over the two legs of their Champions League quarter-final clash.

Recall that Bayern drew 1-1 with Man City in the Champions League quarter-final second-leg tie.

The Bundesliga champions had lost 3-0 against Pep Guardiola’s side in the first leg last week.

Speaking at his post-match interview, as quoted by Bayern Munich’s official website, Muller said Thomas Tuchel’s side lacked cutting-edge and punch against the Premier League champions.

The Germany international said, “At the end of the day, we’re out. The crowd showed after the game that they saw how much effort we put in and how much we tried to turn the tide. Ultimately we are not scoring enough goals, we have to be honest.

“It was a huge effort, we also had some great pieces of play, but in the end, we lacked cutting edge and punch.

“We are missing narrowly instead of putting them away, and if they are on target, then the goalkeeper saves it.

“We can build on the energy, but we know on Saturday we have got opponents in Mainz who have had a week’s rest. That is the main focus now, not dwelling on this bitter exit for too long.”
