AC Milan defender, Fikayo Tomori, has admitted that his team suffered from stage fright after their Champions League semi-final first-leg 2-0 defeat to local rivals Inter Milan on Wednesday.
Two goals from Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the first half of the encounter gave Inter the victory over AC Milan at San Siro.
During the encounter, Milan looked hugely jittery in the opening exchanges, and Tomori said at his post-match press conference after the game, “We are disappointed with the way we started the game, conceding two early goals like that.
“The first one from a corner and then the second straight afterwards. To go two goals down in the first 15 minutes is a kick in the teeth.
“It took us a while to get back in the game. There was a bit of anxiety in the team. In a game like this, you can’t do that. It is only the first leg. We can’t let our heads drop.”
Inter Milan will welcome AC Milan in the return leg next week.
