UCL: Easy to say, hard to do – Rafa Benitez tells Chelsea how to beat Real Madrid

Veteran football manager, Rafa Benitez has told Chelsea to capitalise on Real Madrid’s mistakes to beat the Spanish giants when both sides meet in the Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday.

For the Blues to make it to the semi-final of the competition this season, they need to overcome a 2-0 deficit at Stamford Bridge to get past the holders.

Benitez, who has managed both Real Madrid and Chelsea, knows about winning European trophies at Stamford Bridge, having won the Europa League in the 2012-13 season.

Speaking to The Telegraph, the former Liverpool and Everton manager said Chelsea fans will play a crucial role in helping the team.

“It is clear that the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge should be key to Chelsea starting the game with intensity, pressing high and not letting Real Madrid handle the ball as they know how.

“They also have quality players to play with and take advantage of any Real Madrid mistake. That’s easy to say, the hard part is doing it.”
