The State of Osun has been commended over the proper examination arrangement put in place by the authorities Of Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), for the Federal Teachers Scheme’s shortlisted candidates supplementary exam.
The Chief Academic Planning Officer who is also the Leader of Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC Officials, Mr. Odusanya Joseph gave the commendation shortly after the conduct of the exam in Osogbo.
Mr. Odusanya expressed deep satisfaction with the arrangements met on the ground in Osun about the Federal Teachers Scheme supplementary examinations.
He affirmed that it eas hitch-free devoid of any untoward act or practise.
While explaining that the Federal government is using the teaching scheme to support the efforts of States government all over the federation at providing enough teachers to schools across the nation, the Chief Academic Planning Officer of UBEC, urged Osun to keep the tempo of its good works high to serve as a model for other states in Nigeria.
He however pleaded that the State Government of Osun should consider the possibility of giving the successful candidates permanent teaching job in public schools after the expiration of the two years allotted teaching programme by the Federal Government.
Earlier in his speech, the Executive Secretary of Osun SUBEB, Mr Adeoye Bakare on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Board Members as well management and staff of SUBEB appreciated the UBEC officials on the hitch fee conduct and success of the federal teachers’ scheme supplementary exam.
Mr Bakare said the exercise will definitely go a long way in helping existing shortfalls of the number of candidates that are to be recruited for the teaching exercise scheme. He maintained that such will keep many Nigerian youths busy in activities that will make life more meaningful to them.
Mr Bakare prayed and wished all the candidates who sat for the examinations a success which will qualify them for the teaching job which might also possibly be an opportunity for them to secure a permanent teaching job with the State Government of Osun.
It will be recalled that the general Federal Teachers Scheme Examination exercise had just been recently conducted and the successful candidates have started working in earnest before the supplementary examinations.
