Two suspects nabbed in Jigawa for harbouring notorious kidnapper
The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested two individuals for harbouring a notorious armed robber and kidnapper in the Gumel Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Abdullahi Salisu Gawo and Garba Bulama Audu, were apprehended by a team of policemen from the Sule Tankarkar Police Station.
According to the statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Isah, on Monday, the arrested suspects played crucial roles in assisting the wanted kidnapper.
Abdullahi Salisu Gawo and Garba Bulama Audu served as motorcyclist and laundry man to the fugitive.
The notorious armed robber and kidnapper in question is reported to be on the top of the Command’s wanted list.
The statement reads, “On 13/12/2023 at about 0700hrs, a team of Policemen attached to Sule Tankarkar Police Station succeeded in arresting one Garba Bulama Audu ‘m’ age 40yrs, Abdullahi Salisu Gawo ‘m’ age 30yrs all of Tseme Fulani Settlement Gumel LGA for harbouring notorious armed robber and kidnapper who happened to be on top of the Command’s wanted list.
“On interrogation separately, one of the suspect disclosed to us that, he serves as a cyclist (Okada rider) to the suspected armed robber/ kidnapper whenever he arrives in the village while the other one revealed that, the said wanted kidnapper usually brought his caps to his laundry room, as he specialized on washing caps.
“Meanwhile, effort is being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect.”
