Two policemen die as hoodlums raze Anambra Police zonal headquarters

Two policemen were feared to have lost their lives as suspected hoodlums razed Zone 13 Police headquarters in Ukpo, Anambra state.

Not less than four vehicles have also been burnt while fire fighters have arrived to put out the inferno.

The development has increased tension across the State.

On Sunday night, three persons were allegedly killed in Awka, Anambra State, including a fitness instructor

The incident happened at Ifite, Awka South local government area, while the other person was killed at Unizik junction.

The attack comes amid the increasing security incidents in Anambra whose governorship election scheduled for November 6 is fast approaching.

Willie Obiano, the state governor, recently lamented over the worsening security situation, saying the state was under siege by criminals.

“I call on everybody, irrespective of affiliations to come together and support government and security agencies to fight our common enemy. Those who seek to destroy what we have laboured to build must not be tolerated in any manner,” Obiano had said.
