Abimbola Abatta, Osogbo

An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded Adenle Mujeem and Olagunju Kamilu in Ilesha correctional centre for attempting to kill one Suleiman Fatimah, a septuagenarian.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akintade Jacob told the court that the defendants attempted to kill the septuagenarian woman as well as steal her property.

He said the duo committed the offence on February 2, 2021 at noon at Isosu Area Ede in Osun State.

According to him, the offence is contrary to section 516, 509 of criminal code cap 34 vol 11 law of Osun state 2002.

Meanwhile, the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges slammed against them by the police.

The defence counsel, Sunday Abolade Ismail urged the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal term, promising that they would stand their trials.

In his ruling, Magistrate Ishola Omishade denied the bail and ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesa correctional centre.

He, thereafter, adjourned the case till 17th February 2021 for hearing.
