Two men arraigned for stealing N1.2m motorcycle
Two men, Hammed Abdulrasheed and Abiodun Aluko, were on Wednesday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth N1.2 million.
The defendants, aged 22 and 42, respectively, are facing a two-count charge of stealing and illegal possession of stolen items.
According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Alice Ojo, the defendants committed the offences on August 6 at 4:00 p.m. in Ado-Ekiti.
Abdulrasheed allegedly stole a Bajaj motorcycle valued at N1.2 million, which belonged to the complainant, Mr. Ogundipe Babasanmi.
Aluko was allegedly in possession of the stolen motorcycle.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge, and their counsel, Mr. Adeyemi Egbebi, applied for bail on most liberal terms, assuring that they would not jump bail.
Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N250,000 each with one surety each in like sum.
The case was adjourned until September 27 for hearing.
