Two apprehended in Oyo with freshly severed human skull
The Oyo State Police Command has announced the arrest of two individuals for possessing a freshly severed human skull belonging to an unidentified woman in the Amuloko area of Ibadan, the state capital.
According to the police spokesperson, Osifeso Adewale, the arrests followed a viral video showing residents detaining a man named Musa, who was found with the human skull. The residents had grown suspicious of Musa’s unusual behavior and confronted him, leading to the discovery of the skull in his sack.
The video, shared by OyoAffairs on X.com, showed the suspect being handed over to the police. Musa reportedly admitted to being part of a syndicate involved in selling human body parts.
Osifeso confirmed that an investigation is underway and that the two suspects are in custody. “The case is under investigation. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident. Further updates will be provided,” Osifeso said.
In a related event, the Western Nigeria Security Network, known as Amotekun, recently detained two men in Saki West Local Government Area for allegedly exhuming the head of a freshly buried corpse. The men were caught in the act by the security personnel.
