The Kaduna State Government (KDSG) has reported that military forces have eliminated eight bandits in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area (LGA) of the state. Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed this in a statement issued on Thursday in Kaduna.
According to Aruwan, the troops initiated a fighting patrol in the Kampanin Doka region based on operational updates and engaged with bandits upon reaching the area. They successfully neutralized seven bandits during this encounter. Following this, the troops conducted a thorough search and recovered several items, including three AK-47 rifles, eight magazines (four of which were loaded with a total of 120 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition), and a magazine carrier. Additionally, they seized six motorcycles, three mobile phones, two Baofeng radios, and three sets of civilian clothing.
During the final phase of the patrol, another engagement occurred with bandits in the Gayam area, resulting in the neutralization of one bandit. It is suspected that the remaining bandits fled with gunshot wounds.
Governor Uba Sani expressed gratitude to the security forces for their efforts and acknowledged the commendable work of the troops led by Maj-Gen.
