Tricycle Association in Lagos inaugurates excos

The Management and Association of tricycles recently appointed new leaders who would head the operation of Tricycles riders.

The Zonal Chairman of Zone E, Adejowon Olamilekan said the appointment of newly elected leaders is a profound responsibility on their part to checkmate the activities of Keke operators in Zone E.

Speaking in Lagos, during the yearly inauguration of new excos, he said the appointment of new leaders in Zone E was long overdue, blaming it on COVID-19 lockdown.

He explained that, companies have rules and regulations which guide the operation of the organisation, maintaining that the same is applicable to all transportation agencies in Lagos.

He emphasised that every  organization is known by its code of conduct like values on how a person should act towards other people and institution in such environment.

The newly appointed deputy Chairman of Zone E/Chairman of branch B, Ikosi, Ketu, Lagos, Joseph Odusanya described the inauguration as a wake up calls to the excos to contribute their quota to a greater of Lagos.

Similarly, Joseph, in a statement challenged the new excos to see the appointment as an opportunity to be patriotic and honest in their new office.

Odusanya, speaking  further on laws needed to enhance the sector said, “It is the responsibility  of the house to formulate such law in as much as it’s going to ensure the removal of grey areas in the state and meet the needs of residents of the state.

“Our duty as transporters is to adhere to the house policy and ensure effective practices among transportation agencies in the state.

“Transportation sector has played a very substantial role in the Nigerian economy. For instance, there are thousands of Nigerian graduates who could not find a white collar job straight out from the university and  after being frustrated for so many years without a job decided to drive Keke Napep to earn a living and are doing fantastic well.

“However, transport sector has also reduced unemployment in the country such as creating job opportunities to both men and woman thereby increasing standard of living of people.

“To this end,  I strongly believe Transport sector has contributed immensely to the growth of Nigerian economy.”

The new appointees involved are deputy Zonal chairman of Zone E, financial Secretary, welfare secretary, treasurer, publicity secretary and others.

The zonal chairman Zone E, Alhaji Adejowon in his closing remarks lauded the outgoing leaders for their overwhelming contributions at bringing sanity among Keke riders in their various zones.
