Tree branch kills two, injures several along Zango-Kulende road in Ilorin

Two people have died and several others are receiving treatment after a tree branch fell on them along Zango-Kulende road in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The incident was confirmed by the state police command spokesperson, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, who stated that seven people were affected and rushed to the hospital. While two of the victims eventually died, the others are still undergoing treatment.

Recall that the incident occurred at about 8am around the Baystar petrol station, opposite Oke Andi junction, along the Zango-Kulende road of the Ilorin metropolis.

The injured persons were rushed to a private hospital behind Baystar petrol station, while those with serious conditions were transferred to the General Hospital and the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Oke-Oyi.

Okasanmi said an investigation into the case is ongoing and the details will be made available as soon as possible.
