Transfer: Pochettino receives warning against singing World Cup winner

Former Liverpool player, Danny Murphy has warned Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino against making a move for Argentina World Cup winner, Paulo Dybala.

Pochettino is keen to add extra firepower to his squad this summer following the departure of the likes of Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante.

Dybala, who currently plays for AS Roma, has been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.

His Argentina international teammate Enzo Fernandez has since urged him to join the Blues.

But Murphy believes Pochettino doesn’t need Dybala in his team, adding that he should prioritize other positions like a striker and winger.

Speaking on Vibe with Five, Murphy said: “He [Dybala] is a quality player, but do they need another player who is a 10, a winger, a striker?

“They need a striker, they have got them, but they need a proper established one. Kane would do them, not that he is going to go there. I am not sure they need it.

“They need midfielders because Kante has gone, Kovacic has gone, Loftus-Cheek has gone and Mount has gone. Depending on Financial Fair Play, I think Chelsea want to be prioritizing other positions.”
