Transfer: Now, right time to go – Rooney tells Harry Kane

Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney has told Harry Kane that ‘now is the time’ to leave Tottenham.

Bayern Munich have submitted two bids for Harry Kane this summer and both were rejected by the north London club.

The England captain has just one year left on his deal at Tottenham and he is intimated that he will not sign an extension.

The Red Devils entered talks with Tottenham at the start of the summer to ascertain if Kane was available.

Spurs did not want to sell their key man but in any case, the club valued the player at more than £100m.

Rooney believes Kane is ‘ideal’ for United and says he should leave Spurs this summer.

“I thought it was time to go last season and he stayed,” Rooney told the Athletic.

“Harry’s probably feeling that and knows there are trophies out there for him to win. He has done everything he can for that to try and be at Tottenham.

“Now probably is right for him to move on and it looks like he’s ready for that as well, but we know Tottenham can be quite difficult at times.”
