Manchester United have set their asking price for captain Harry Maguire.
This is amid rumours of a summer transfer, according to Manchester Evening News which reports that the Red Devils want £50 million for the defender.
Chief writer at the media house, Samuel Luckhurst, gave this report earlier on Monday, insisting that the valuation is a bit much for the defender.
He is also of the opinion that the club will struggle to find offers around the quoted sum.
He said the £50 million price tag could hamper Maguire’s chances of securing a transfer this season should the Red Devils fail to lower their valuation.
Maguire, who joined from Leicester City in the summer of 2019 for a world-record fee for a defender of £80 million, is in contract with the club till 2025.
He spent most of last season on the bench for Manchester United as manager Erik ten Hag preferred Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Victor Lindelof ahead of the former Hull City defender.
He recorded just eight starts in the league last campaign.
