Transfer: I’ve admired him for so long – Arteta on new Arsenal forward

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has admitted that Kai Havertz is a player he admired for so long before he signed him this summer.

Havertz has joined the Gunners from Chelsea in a £65 million move.

According to Arteta, he was convinced about the German after a few chats.

“Havertz is a player I have admired for a long time, and we had the possibility of bringing him to the club.

“We had a few chats about how he was feeling about it and I was convinced he was the player and type of personality that we want in the team, to take us forward,” he said.

Havertz is one of the three summer signings Arteta has made along with Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice.
