Transfer: He’s strong, great left foot – Saha warns Ten Hag about signing striker

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has warned the club’s manager Erik Ten Hag over his push to sign Rasmus Hojlund.

The Frenchman described the move as a ‘risk’, wondering if the Denmark international could be a perfect frontman for the Red Devil.

Ten Hag is desperate to add another striker to his ranks this summer to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure last season.

With Tottenham reluctant to sell Harry Kane to any of their rivals, Ten Hag appears to have settled on youngster Hojlund as his primary target and personal terms are said to have been agreed already.

Saha acknowledges the 20-year-old’s potential is obvious but would like the club to bring in the finished article.

“It’s always a risk when a player moves from another country,” Saha told Paddy Power when asked about United signing the Atalanta starlet.

“They might have all the talent, but it can take time to adapt. But, Rasmus Hojlund has what it takes.

“He is very strong and has a great left foot. He is very mobile and provides a lot of space for the kind of wingers that Manchester United have. It’s a very interesting move.

“A player with more experience in the Premier League would be better and I’d prefer it, but that’s the situation.”
