Transfer: Even Saudi club offered only €50m – Inter refuses to meet Chelsea’s demand for Lukaku

Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has told Chelsea not to expect a huge offer from any club for Romelu Lukaku.

He pointed out that even the big-spending Saudi Arabian clubs were only able to offer €50 million for Belgium internationals.

Lukaku’s season-long at the Serie A giants officially ended yesterday and he will definitely return to Stamford Bridge but reports suggest both he and the Blues want to part ways.

The former Manchester United and Everton star was said to have rejected a move to the Saudi Pro League and wants to stay in Europe.

Inter is interested in signing him permanently but as per Marotta, the transfer fee has to be right.

The Blues brought back Lukaku to England from Inter Milan in 2021 for a big fee of around €115 million.

The Inter CEO, however, referenced offers from Saudi Arabia for the striker of around €50 million this summer.

“Chelsea must decide what they will do with him, it’s normal that they can’t put him on the market and expect large fees.

“It’s no coincidence the offer from Saudi Arabia for Lukaku was around €50m,” Marotta said (via Fabrizio Romano)
