Transfer: Butland in shock move to Old Trafford after Man Utd star’s exit

Manchester United are in talks to sign goalkeeper Jack Butland from Crystal Palace.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Man United are keen to use Butland as a backup goalkeeper for the second half of the campaign.

The Red Devils are searching for a new number two after Newcastle United recalled Martin Dubravka from his loan at Old Trafford.

Dubravka had made just two Carabao Cup appearances for Man United after joining the Premier League giants on loan from Newcastle last summer.

The Slovakian, who left Man United a few days ago to his parent club Newcastle, now looks set to be replaced by Butland, whose Crystal Palace contract will expire at the end of the current season.

Butland was part of England’s 2018 FIFA World Cup squad.

The 29-year-old is yet to make an appearance for Crystal Palace this season.
