Transfer: Barcelona star unhappy over Gundogan’s arrival
Barcelona midfielder Gavi is unhappy with the club’s decision to bring in Ilkay Gundogan from Manchester City.
The Spain international is reportedly worried that his playing time will be limited, and that manager Xavi will bench him.
El Nacional reports that Gavi believes he will be sacrificed by the manager next season, with the former Manchester City captain taking his place and forming the midfield with Frenkie de Jong and Pedri.
Gavi has just had his contract renewed in January and is now struggling to come to terms with the transfer.
His contract had not been registered by LaLiga as Barcelona were above the wage limit, leading to the termination of the contract of Jordi Alba, while Sergio Busquets’ exit at the end of the season also helped them reduce the bill.
Germany international Gundogan moved to Camp Nou on Monday on a free transfer from Manchester City.
