Tragedy as accident claims eight lives in Ekiti

No fewer than eight persons have been feared dead while some passengers sustained injuries in a ghastly motor accident along Ifaki-Ayegbaju road.

The accident involved a car and a Toyota Siena which were involved in a head-on collision.

The car was said to be coming from Ifaki-Ekiti while the Siena was coming from Ayegbaju-Ekiti.

Witnesses said the accident was caused due to over speeding.

Our Reporter, gathered that some of the victims were coming from a wedding ceremony.

It was confirmed that those who died have been taken to mogue while others that sustained degrees of injuries were taken to hospital.

The accident led to gridlock on the route as Road Safety Officials were seen controlling traffic.
