This development was announced through a formal invitation letter issued by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit, which is overseeing the case.
The letter, dated August 5, 2024, was signed by A.A. Elleman, the Head of the IGP Monitoring Unit. It detailed that Dikeh’s name had prominently surfaced in the investigation. The correspondence specifically requested her attendance for an interview on August 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM with SP Aminu Abdullahi Sokoto. The purpose of the interview was to allow Dikeh to provide clarification and further details concerning the allegations against her.
The letter read: “This office is investigating a case of criminal defamation, forgery, falsehood, cyberbullying, and criminal conversion reported to the Inspector-General of Police, in which your name and others feature prominently. In view of the above, you are kindly requested to attend an interview with the undersigned through SP Aminu Abdullahi Sokoto on 7th August 2024 at 10:00hrs to shed more light on the allegations. Following her appearance at the police headquarters, Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi confirmed that Dikeh had been invited in connection with a petition filed against her. He noted that she was interviewed and subsequently released, with the investigation still ongoing. Adejobi emphasized that Dikeh’s presence was required to address the petition’s concerns and that the process would continue as the authorities review the case.
