By Jeleel Olawale
The coordinator, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) in Osun State, Ife federal constituency, Engineer Benjamin Adereti, has predicted that Asiwaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win February 25 presidential election convincingly in the country.
Adereti made this known while addressing journalists in Ile-Ife.
According to him, Tinubu is a man to beat in the February 25 election because he had paid his price. All Progressives Congress will win the 2023 election massively from the Presidency to the House of Assembly because the candidates that our party presented through primary are credible and qualified individuals. The ethos of our party are clear, focused and unambiguous on communities and people.
“We want to develop Nigeria through our party manifesto but we have no choice than to move forward and Nigeria cannot retrogress and that is what APC stands for. So, we have the chance to win the election convincingly”.
Speaking on Naira swap and fuel scarcity currently facing the masses, Adereti said, they are government policies and these affect everyone, stressing that it is not limited to a section of community.
“We understand what is going on and this will have no peculiar effect on our party. It will affect everyone and we are not immune from the inconveniences that may occur and every change that happens in human life, it comes with inconveniences. So, it will soon go but it is matter of time”.
Reacting to the Osun tribunal judgement, Adereti who is a candidate of the APC for House of Representatives, Ife federal constituency described the tribunal judgement as reflection of wish of the good people of Osun.
He added: “It is a long awaited judgement and we saw what happened during the hearing by both the plaintiff and respondents and we are happy that the judgement is in our favour. The judges did justice to the case. Over-voting in any form is not what we accept in Osun. Anything that involves cheating that is against Omoluabi ethos in Osun will not be accepted.
“We don’t expect anything less from the PDP which described the judgement as miscarriage of justice. They are in pain and agony, and anybody in such situation will not say anything less than that. They will want to keep their members afloat especially the effects on the coming general elections”.
He said the protest and attack that rocked the state after the judgement was deliberately orchestrated by the PDP and the reason is to give their members confidence that they have not totally lost, they know the truth.
He noted that they have to create a scene and that is why they paid thugs to disturb already peaceful state and one of them is a man identified as ‘Elelede’.
“He destroyed all APC banners in Ife federal constituency with a view to give themselves forced hope. We are not perturbed by their act, we understand the game and we are fully on ground.
“Our state is s peaceful state, many people are not with them. You can see people on the road, there is a spontaneous reaction from the people, that did not occur only thugs in Osogbo, Ikire, Ilesa and Ile-Ife came out to unlease terror on people of the state.
“We are peaceful people and our people will not join the attacks. We are here to govern people to make life better for them but not to destroy them. We know it is their stock in trade. But for us in APC, we are for peace, development and progress”, He declared.
