The Director General, Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition for Good Governance, Barr. Adebayo Shittu has said that the All Progressives Party (APC) presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu will chinch 80 per cent votes in the 2023 general elections.
He stated this during the National Presidential Endorsement Conference, for All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups held in Abuja on Wednesday.
He said, “we express our debt of gratitude to the Forum of All Progressives Congress Northern Governors for their collective endorsement of our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when, on the eve of the last APC presidential primary election, they insisted that the ticket should be reserved exclusively for a southern candidate”.
“That salutory resolution was soon followed by the withdrawal of other presidential aspirants for our principal, Asiwaju Tinubu. His eventual emergence as our party’s presidential candidate and his subsequent nomination of Sen. Kashim Shettima as his running mate is now providential history”.
Barr. Shittu noted that countless groups of patriotic citizens and loyal APC members from all parts of Nigeria came together to establish various electoral campaign groups for our principal, Asiwaju Tinubu.
“We are glad and proudly affirm that no less than one thousand of such support groups currently operate as members of this coalition which was established and is currently headed by my humble self, supported wonderfully, patriotically and most effectively by a fantastic Deputy Director-General, six executive directors, six zonal coordinators, state coordinators and several senior officers.
On the election he argued, “we shall pursue relentlessly and tirelessly until the last day of campaigns before the presidential election. Of course, we’ve been consistently doing these activities since our establishment four months ago, despite the fact that no funds have been received by the coalition from outside except the few coalition members who have shown unfathomable commitment to our eventual success.”
Barr. Shittu stressed that in the foregoing objective, we shall, in the following days and weeks, engage in “Train-the-trainers” workshops, utilizing some uniquely identified campaign experts from Kano and Jigawa States. Trainees would include representatives of various members of support groups of this coalition to be trained in the best and most effective voting for our principal.
“We also intend, on every Friday, Sunday and market days to populate these centers with political posters, jingles, handbills and other relevant materials. We shall continue to sustain our campaign discussions and negotiations with critical socio-cultural communities like the Arewa Traders Association of Niger and Northern States, the Councils of Ulama, the Yoruba Obas and Communities in Niger, Plateau, Borno, Kano, kastina and other fourteen states including Arewa communities in the seventeen southern states, the well established and very sophisticated Yoruba communities in the eleven South-South and South Eastern States, and of course, the various Youth and students groups all across the thirty six states of our dear nation”.
He pointed out that the quality of our flag bearers backed up with “Rebirth Manifesto” to be unveiled shortly, is not only quintessential, but cannot be matched by anything from our opponents. These recommendations point out the directives, policies, programmes and activities that the incoming Tinubu-Shettima administration should pursue immediately they are sworn in into office in a clear demonstration of their readiness to hit the ground running towards transforming Nigeria into one.
Also, the Deputy Director-General, Dr. Musa Usman buttressed that the idea of coalition groups is to drum up support of all groups in Nigeria and beyond, for the actualization of Jagaban Borgu and Shettima aspirations to lead this country as president and vice president of Nigeria respectively, come 2023.
He said, “I see these groups that come together as formidable force, which will invariably lead our presidential aspirants to emerged as elected president and vice president.
“To our young intelligent, energetic youths, who despite the economic hardship been experienced in the country, pull their resources together to support our APC candidates, I implore you not to be distracted on what we are facing in the country but rather be determined not to live governance and politics to people who don’t have idea on how to move this country forward and better “.
