Tinubu declares war on insecurity, vows to eliminate Boko Haram, bandits, others

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to eradicating the threats posed by Boko Haram, bandits, and kidnappers.

Speaking in his Independence Day address on Tuesday, he commended the armed forces and security agencies for their intensified efforts in combating insecurity across the nation.

“On the security front, I am happy to announce to you, my compatriots, that our administration is winning the war on terror and banditry,” Tinubu declared.

He revealed that over 300 Boko Haram and bandit commanders have been eliminated in the past year, showcasing the effectiveness of military operations in the Northeast, Northwest, and other regions.

The President noted that these efforts have led to the restoration of peace in hundreds of communities in the North, allowing thousands of citizens to return to their homes.

“This is an unfinished business, which our security agencies are committed to ending as quickly as possible,” he emphasized.

Tinubu expressed optimism that once peace is fully restored, farmers can return to their lands, leading to increased food production and reduced food costs.

“I promise you, we shall not falter on this,” he added, reinforcing his administration’s resolve to address the nation’s security challenges comprehensively.
