Tinubu appoints Shaakaa Kanyitor as new Auditor-General for the federation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Shaakaa Kanyitor Chira as the Auditor-General for the Federation.

The appointment according to the President takes effect from 20 October, 2023.

Chira takes over as the Substantive Auditor-General for the Federation following the retirement of Mr. Adolphus Aghugahu on 7 September, 2022.

Chira was born on 12 February, 1968 and hails from Donga Local government of Taraba state, Nigeria.

He holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Public Sector Accounting as well as a Master in Business Administration (MBA).

He is a Fellow, Association of National Accountant of Nigeria – FCNA.  Member, Computer Forensics Institute. Nigeria – MCFI. Member Chartered Institute of Taxation ACTI.

He is a trained AFROSAI-E Performance Auditor and has also received training on Geopolitics, Industrial Reforms and System Engineering organised by LITESOL consultancy,  Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UAE), March, 2019.
