President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday announced the appointment of new Chief Executives to fresh terms in office in the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) and Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).
Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, made this known via a press statement.
According to Ajuri, “President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new and returning Chief Executives to fresh terms in office across multiple agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.”
The CEOs replaced are Prof. Umar Danbatta of NCC, Tukur Mohammed Lawal of Nigcom SAT, and Sunday Adepoju of NIPOST.
The new appointees include EVC/CEO, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) — Aminu Maida; MD/CEO, Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) — Nkechi Egerton-Idehen; and Postmaster General/CEO, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) — Tola Odeyemi.
Meanwhile the President reappointed Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi and Dr. Vincent Olatunji as DG/CEO, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and National Commissioner/CEO, Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) respectively.
The statement also revealed that the President approved the appointment of a new Special Adviser.
The Presidential spokesman said that the fresh appointments are in line with his determination to maximally leverage on Nigeria’s proven technological and digital economic prowess to reposition the nation’s economy toward greater financial inclusion.
Idris Alubankudi was appointed as the Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy.
By the directive of the President, the above-mentioned appointments take immediate effect.
