Time to fix Nigeria is now – PCC
- One of the standing committees of the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Nigerians to see the 2023 election as an opportunity to set the nation on the path of sustainable growth.
The Parliamentarians Committee of the South West asserted that this is the moment that the people must put in everything they have to save this nation, noting that it is time for action.
This is contained in a statement read at the innauguration of the group whose task is to galvanite for all parliamentarians of the South West region by the Chairman, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Patricia Olubunmi Etteh who led the directorate which includes Sen Ganiyu Solomon, Hon Kazeem Adededji and Hon Rotimi Makinde at the inaugural meeting, held in at GRA Ikeja, Lagos on Friday.
Rt Hon Patricia Etteh explained that this is the time for real work, time to fix the nation, and that we all owe it a duty to make work.
The Parliamentarians are very important and crucial to strategize, as key agents, in advancing the course of the party, as well as contribute significantly to the victory of its presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the forthcoming 2023 presidential elections.
“Our principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu represents a new dawn for he is someone who has demonstrated a very great visionary leadership qualities in many areas in our society, as well as the ability to radicalize the much needed changes and everything that could change the tides.. It is in light of this that the Directorate of The Parliamentarians was created to coordinate a robust campaign structure in the South-West Zone towards the presidential election in 2023.
“Our objective in the Presidential Campaign Programme is strategic, given that, we are the only Directorate consisting of members who have contested and won elections on one or more occasions in our society and therefore in best position to mobilize and ensure the victory of our party come 2023.
“My key message to all of us here today, therefore, is that we bring our individual election-winning tactics to bear to secure landslide victory for the presidential candidate of our great party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the forthcoming 2023 presidential elections.
“It is essential that we commend the leadership of our great party, the APC, from the ward level to the national level for their untiring efforts in laying a solid foundation for our Party. Towards the victory of our very own Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the 2023 presidential elections, we will re-lay the foundation of the standards of democratic practices and good governance, as entrenched in the progressive ideals of our great party, APC.
“Above all, the crux of our efforts will be to reach out to all our esteemed parliamentarians, present, and past, to form the nucleus of our robust campaign programme targeted at the old and young people of the South West Geo-political Zone of our great nation. It is imperative that, as our efforts draw closer to the most critical period ahead of the 2023 elections, our people of voting age should obtain their PVCs and make sure they cast their ballots for the qualified, competent, and trustworthy candidates of our great party at the local, state and national levels.
“Our democracy is stable and firm. We must therefore acknowledge that the forthcoming 2023 presidential election is a highly significant moment in our political history. It presents us with a great moment of decision, to choose hope, peace and security, unity and inclusion, and then move ahead as one people, as one nation, towards our God-ordained destiny as the black nation on the face of the earth.
“I enjoin us all to work together, by the grace of God, moving with speed, intentionality, and perseverance, towards the widespread landslide success of our great party, and the victory of our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the forthcoming general elections come 2023. Let us work together as one united family to ensure that Asiwaju does not miss out a single vote in the South-West Geo-Political Zone of this country.
“This is a commitment to the future of Nigeria, and it is absolutely crucial. The stake has never been higher for our country. This is the moment that we must put in everything we have to save this nation. Indeed, it is time for Action. This is the time for real work, this is the time to fix our nation, and make Nigeria work. It all starts with us here in this room today. Let us join together, to ease the pains of today while working for the gains of tomorrow.
“Without a doubt, the new administration taking office in 2023 will face a plethora of domestic and external challenges, such as dwindling revenues. These challenges which have threatened our national unity, though difficult, are not insurmountable.
“Let me, therefore, reiterate my resolve and the commitment of my team to a purpose-driven support base of Parliamentarians and tireless rounds of campaigning that draws its inspiration from all Yorubas, particularly the good people of our Geo-Political Zone, in ensuring a resounding success for our great party, and total victory for our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at 2023 polls.
“The overall task of our Team is to streamline efforts by working in partnership with other directorates and committees to guarantee total victory at the presidential elections, as well as ensure that our approach is inclusive and effective.
“I wish to appeal to Gbogbo awa omo K’aro o jire, especially the Parliamentarians, to see the 2023 election as an opportunity to set the nation on the path of sustainable progress and more essentially secure the mandate of a tested and trusted Son of the Yoruba people as the next President and C-in-C of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“In conclusion, distinguished guests, ladies, and gentlemen, let me reiterate that despite our respective individual efforts within our great party, APC, it is evident that the quest for total victory at the forthcoming 2023 presidential elections cannot proceed on an isolated track, and as such, we must avoid the “silo mentality”. Strong collaborations and partnerships will be essential in delivering the mandate of the All Progressives Congress.
“On our part, we the Parliamentarians from the South-West Zone remain committed to this collective objective. We believe, and very strongly too, that by working together as individuals, teams, and as a people, in the spirit of unity and mutual help – together, we can achieve victory in 2023, by having Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the next president of our country,” it added
