Tight security as Ogun monarchs await Tinubu

There is tight security at the palace of the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, as traditional rulers await the arrival of President Bola Tinubu.

The president is visiting the Alake and other Obas in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, after which he would move to Ijebu-Ode to meet with the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

News correspondent, who was at the Ake palace in Abeokuta, observed heavy presence of security operatives.

Heavily armed operatives of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Service, DSS, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and others were seen at the entrance of the palace, screening individuals who were going in.

The roads linking the palace were heavily manned by security agents, but without affecting public transport.

Our correspondent reports that the Alake, other monarchs and chiefs are still awaiting the arrival of the president as at the time of filing this report.
