Tension in Siluko over homosexuality suspect’s whereabouts

Tension is now brewing in Siluko community in Egor Local Government Area following the action of enraged community vigilantes who in August 2023, attacked and murdered the parents of Kindness Prince Adagbonyin.

He is being accused of bringing disgrace to his family and shame to the community by engaging in a homosexual act with another male.

Meanwhile his partner in the crime, Mr Uche has been caught and beaten up before being handed over to the Police by the Community vigilante. He has also  been tried and convicted of the offence and is serving his 14-year jail term in an undisclosed location in the country.

Matters  became compounded by the fact that on December 3rd, 2023, the community vigilante abducted Ehigie Nimieowmantue Adagbonyin, a brother to Kindness and he has not been released since.

Along the line, his sister, Aisosa Adagbonyin Jude terrified of the development committed suicide on January 1st this year due to depression as a result of this whole issue.

Siluko community has remained on edge as residents express mixed reactions to the incident, highlighting the complex interplay between societal norms and law enforcement in addressing sensitive issues.

The search for Kindness Prince Adagbonyin however went violent November 19, 2024 when the community vigilante attacked the residence of his late parents, Mr. Michael Enoma Adagbonyin and Mrs. Bridget Enoma Adagbonyin, and burnt it down.

It is the dual accusations — homosexuality and his parents’ death — that has now put kindness on the community’s wanted list, so much that they are urging anyone with useful information that could lead to his arrest to contact 09151591806 or report to the nearest police station.

Members of society praised the Vigilantes for putting in so much effort to eradicate anyone found to be homosexual, as well as for assisting the police in their search for kindness.
