Tell the world how Nigerian companies have come of age — Wabote to local companies

Executive secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, Simbi Kesiye Wabote, has charged indigenous companies in the oil and gas sector to tell the world how Nigerian companies have come of age.

Wabote stated this when he graced the grand commissioning of the South Western Technologies and Oilfield Services Ltd, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Friday, September 16.

In his remark, the executive secretary challenged indigenous companies whose capacities have been built to take the center stage and demonstrate their capacities to the rest of the world and spread the word of how Nigerian companies have come of age.

Also, Chris Idisi, managing director and chief executive officer, South Western Technologies & Oilfield Services Ltd, described NCDMB as the platform that enables local companies to build capacities in the oil & gas sector. Idisi said in a tweet on Friday, “With the NOGICD Act, NCDMB has developed capacities to provide new and improved services.

On his  part, Obioha Fubara Okoroafor, the chairman, South Western Technologies & Oilfield Services Ltd, in his remarks applauded the NCDMB led by Wabote for all the giant strides recorded so far in Nigerian Content even beyond the oil and gas sector.

Reports that NCDMB has been working towards achieving sustainable industrialization in Nigeria through its medium-term plan of the 10-year Strategic Road Map. The board is committed to patriotism, professionalism, and proper management of the Expatriate Quota Management, EQM, initiative.

Recently, NCDMB beat all the ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs, of the federal government to clinch the first position in the newly released 2021/2022 Executive Order 001 (EO1) Compliance report. The report was done by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, PEBEC.

A statement signed by Jumoke Oduwole, special adviser to the President Muhammadu Buhari, on Ease of Doing Business/PEBEC Secretary, said listed overall top five performing MDAs during the period as Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, which scored 81.48 percent followed by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON, which came second with 77.38 per cent scorecard.
