Teachers’ Day: Ogun wins best Public Schools, Teachers Awards in Abuja

The efforts of Ogun State government to turn around the fortune of the education sector continue to yield positive results as St. Micheal’s

African Church Primary School 1, Ota, won the overall Best Primary School in Nigeria. The school was rewarded with a 18-Seater JAC Bus as the prize.

This was the highlight of this year’s World Teachers Day celebration which took place at Eagles’ Square, Abuja.

The School won after rigorous screenings. Three schools from Ogun State were nominated at both State and National levels.

It would be recalled that the same school today, won the best Public Primary School during the celebration of the Teachers Day in Ogun State.

Mr. Tajudeen Ajayi Ayantola, from City of Knowledge Academy, Odogbolu, emerged as the best teacher in the private school category at the national event, while Mr. Owolabi Paul Adelana from Ijebu Muslim College (Jnr.), Ijebu-Ode, was second runner-up in the best teacher’s  category.
