The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), says it has successfully energised the newly installed T3 1×60 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA)132/33 Kilo Volt (kV) power transformer in its Shagamu 1Transmission Substation.
Mrs Ndidi Mbah, TCN’S General Manager Public Affairs said this in a statement in Abuja on Friday.
Mbah said that the 96 Mega Watts (MW) 132/33kV transmission sub-station presently had the capacity to wheel 144MW with the addition of the newly energised T3 1X60MVA transformer.
According to her, the direct beneficiaries of the project are Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) customers in Sagamu, Ogijo, Remo, and Ikenne.
She listed other projects also completed recently within the region to include a newly constructed control room and the installation of a T4 1X60MVA 132/33kV power transformer which was energised at the Sagamu 132/33kV Transmission Substation inJune.
”Similarly, another T1 1X60MVA 132/33kV power transformer was recently installed and energised in May upon the completion of the new Oluewu 132/33kV Substation in Oyo State.
”The increase in transformers capacity means more power for IBEDC to off-take and distribute to its customers in Sagamu and environs, ”she said.
