The Senate of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) at its emergency meeting on Tuesday, after considering the interim report on the ongoing investigation of the Imaweje/Student crisis has approved the reopening of the university for Thursday, 15th June 2023.
Recalled that the school was shut down two weeks ago following the crisis that erupted between the students and Imaweje, one of the host communities following the controversial death of a 300 level students of the university.
According to statement from the Registrar of the institution, Mr Dapo Oke, the senate also reviewed the university calendar and approved the extension of Teaching Practice for 400-level Students by one month.
In the same vein, matriculation ceremony for newly admitted Students for 2022/2023 academic session would take place on Wednesday, 21st June 2023 while the first semester examinations for 100 – 400-level Students would commence 1st week in July 2023. E- test continues on Monday, 19th June 2023.
While welcoming Students back on campus, the university disclosed that its zero tolerance for cultism was still fully operational adding that “students are hereby warned to stay clear of all forms of violence as any student found contravening any University rules and regulations would be summarily dealt with. They are enjoined to maintain a cordial relationship with their host Communities”.
