Tanker crashes in Anthony Oke of Lagos state

On Wednesday, a gas tanker carrying a full load overturned in the Anthony Oke area of Lagos State, blocking the main road and leading to severe traffic congestion.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) provided updates and shared videos of the incident on X.com.

Lagos State Fire Service personnel were dispatched to the scene, and efforts to evacuate the overturned tanker have commenced, with LASTMA officers engaged in the removal operation.

LASTMA reported: “A gas tanker with a full load has overturned at Anthony Oke, near Trem, blocking the inbound lane. Our officers are actively managing the situation, redirecting traffic to alternate routes.”

They added, “The Lagos State Fire Service is present, and we anticipate a swift evacuation process.”

Motorists are advised to use the service lane after Anthony Oke to continue their journey or to seek alternative routes.

Road users are encouraged to be patient while emergency services work on resolving the situation.
