System collapse for the 7th time this year

Nigerians this afternoon experienced the seventh system collapse this year, thereby causing serious disruptions to economic activities across the country.

One is however sure whether it totals system collapse but partial. But some of the electricity distribution companies have informed their customers about this development.

Industry sources in Lagos told Business Standards that even though the detail about the development was still sketchy, they said, all they know is that there was no tripping on any transmission lines in Lagos, Benin and Oshogbo regions, meaning that the system collapse did not emanate from them. The souce said there have been reports from other regions yet.

What this then mean is that a good number of small scale business that are dependent on the supply are now stalled, and would not be able to move forward as the price of diesel has become probative for them to use as alternative.

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and Enugu discos have already intimated their customer about the development.
